Brazil's MPX to strengthen solar power offering

MPX Energia is looking to further develop its solar energy project portfolio because of recently introduced incentives from the Brazilian government, BNamericas reports.

The firm has already requested permission to the local energy authorities in the state of Ceara to increase capacity of its solar plant there from 1 MW to 50 MW.

And there are plans to increase capacity at the Taua plant to 2 MW this year, the publication added.

An incentive fund proposed by the Brazilian authorities should encourage further investments in Brazil’s fledgling sector, MPX told BNamericas.
