Babcock and Wilcox subsidiary wins $40m maintenance contract

Power Systems Operations, a subsidiary of Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) has secured a 10-year contract extension for about $40m to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services for Ebensburg Power Company’s 50 MW power plant in Pennsylvania, US.

Power Systems Operations has delivered O&M services at the power plant since it began commercial operation in 1991.

Ebensburg Power Company is a joint venture between subsidiaries of B&W and ESI Energy.

The cogeneration plant burns waste coal from mining refuse piles to produce steam and electricity.
