Power & water event to return to Qatar in 2013

The combined conferences and exhibitions, POWER-GEN Middle East and WaterWorld Middle East will be returning to Doha in 2013, following the success of the event in Qatar this week.

The event, which closed yesterday, attracted 2800 power and water professionals and organiser PennWell has announced the Qatar National Convention Centre as the venue again for a staging 12-14 February 2013.

This year’s conference featured presentation from both the Minister of Energy and Industry, Dr. Mohammed bin Salah Al-Sada and the Iraqi Electricity Minister, Karim Aftan El Jumaily, who presented contrasting challenges that their respective countries face in developing their electricity infrastructure.

Over 160 leading enterprises from the power and water sectors exhibited at POWER-GEN Middle East and WaterWorld Middle East, the vast majority of whom voted to return to Qatar in 2013 to explore opportunities in the country and surrounding region.

The two parallel conferences featured six tracks including well- attended sessions on finance, gas turbines, nuclear power, desalination, utility management and wastewater.

This year’s conferences and exhibition were presented in partnership with Qatar’s national power and water company, Kahramaa with the lead sponsorship and support of Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC).
