Obama's address to focus on oil and gas power

U.S. President Barack Obama is expected to outline goals to ramp up domestic oil and natural gas production in his State of the Union speech.

Smartplanet.com says Obama’s reelection campaign recently released a video to campaign supporters promising “big ideas” on topics such as energy.

Smartplanet speculates that the President’s speech is a response to Republican opponents who are accusing Obama of diminishing domestic energy production and harming the economy.
