New Energy Solar Purchases Two Facilities in California

By Editors of Power Engineering

New Energy Solar announced a purchase of a majority interest in two large-scale solar projects developed by SunPower in Califonia.

SunPower will continue to retain an ownership interest in the two facilities, which total 134 MW.

Stanford University will purchase 100 percent of the power generated and the renewable energy credits from one of the projects, the Stanford Solar Generating Station. Turlock Irrigation District will buy the power from the TID Solar Generating Station.

Both sites use the SunPower Oasis systems, which are modular solar power blocks. The two facilities are expected to achieve commercial operation this month.
