China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) yesterday announced that Unit 2 of its Tianwan nuclear power plant completed its ninth refueling and maintenance project, reconnecting to the grid on November 1.

The overhaul of the plant is the first decade-period maintenance of Unit 2 and set a new record for the shortest refueling and maintenance project duration among national nuclear power stations.

The Tianwan plant in Jiangsu province is the largest nuclear plant on mainland China. It is located on the Yellow Sea less than 20 miles from city of Lianyungang.
