Mission Solar Energy Cuts Solar Cell Production

By Editors of Power Engineering

San Antonio solar firm Mission Solar Energy has eliminated a local solar cell production line, and will now buy solar cells from an undisclosed company in Asia.

The San Antonio Business Journal reported the end of that production line was due to strong competition from manufacturers in China. The move eliminates 87 jobs.

Mission Solar Energy will continue to work on residential and commercial rooftop solar projects.
