400 MW of Enel Wind Projects in Kansas Due in Operation by January 2017

wind turbines and transmission lines

Two affiliates of Enel Green Power North America on Sept. 6 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission notices of self-certification as exempt wholesale generators for a pair of 200-MW wind projects in Kansas.

  • The filing from Cimarron Bend Wind Project I LLC was a correction of an original filing which inadvertently referenced the incorrect service territory for the project. Cimarron Bend Wind Project I is developing a 200-MW wind facility located in Clark County, Kansas. The applicant is developing the facility within the CMS Electric Cooperative service territory. The facility will interconnect with the transmission facilities that are owned and controlled by ITC Great Plains LLC. The wind farm is expected to commence commercial operations in November 2016.
  • The other EWG notice was from Cimarron Bend Wind Project II LLC, which is developing a 200-MW wind facility located in Clark County, Kansas. This also within the CMS Electric Cooperative service territory. The facility will interconnect with the transmission facilities that are owned and controlled by ITC Great Plains. It is expected to commence commercial operations in January 2017.

An applicant contact in both cases is: Megan Beauregard, Senior Associate General Counsel, Enel Green Power North America, 1 Tech Drive, Ste 220, Andover, MA 01810, Phone: (978) 296-6822, megan.beauregard@enel.com.
