POWER Engineers Picked as Owner's Engineer for Coal-Fired Plant Expansion

Masinloc Generating Station

POWER Engineers Inc. was picked as the Owner’s Engineer for a 300-MW super-critical coal-fired expansion power project in the Philippines.

POWER Engineers will serve as the Owner’s Engineer through engineering design, construction, startup and commissioning of the expansion project at the Masinloc Generating Station. The current plant consists of two 315-MW coal-fired units. The new unit will use seawater scrubbing to control sulfur emissions and incorporates several of the site’s existing systems into its design to minimize installation costs.

Masinloc Power Partners Co. Ltd. (MPPC) is a joint venture between Virginia-based AES Corp., Thailand’s Electric Generating Public Co. Limited and International Finance Corp. with AES as the majority owner.
