British Columbia Hydroelectric Plant Begins Operations

Full commercial operations began at a 62-MW run-of-river hydroelectric plant in British Columbia, Canada.

Alterra Power Corp. and funds managed by Axium Infrastructure Inc. started operations at the Jimmie Creek project. The project is now selling 100 percent of its power under a 40-year power purchase agreement with BC Hydro that expires in 2056. Alterra owns 51 percent of the project and Axium owns 49 percent.

The project is operated by Alterra in cooperation with partners Kiahoose First Nation, Tla’amin Nation and shíshálh Nation.
