Toshiba America Energy Systems Corp. (TAES) received notice to proceed on replacement projects at three hydroelectric power plants.

Toshiba will design, manufacture, install and commission new generator stators and windings for the Blue Mesa, Morrow Point and Crystal hydroelectric power plants. The U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Regional Office, gave the notice for the replacements. Montreal-based Reivax North America Inc. will design, manufacture and commission the new excitation systems, RTX Power, which will also be installed by TAES.

Delivery of the excitation system for the Crystal power plant is set for January 2017, followed by two more for Morrow Point in September 2017. The two for Blue Mesa will be delivered in September 2018 and September 2019, which is in accordance with the planned Blue Mesa generator rehabilitation project.
