Wärtsilä Acquires Weir American Hydro

Wärtsilä, a provider of complete lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets, acquired Weir American Hydro from Weir Group plc effective June 30, 2016.

The deal will enable Wärtsilä to grow and expand its existing global hydro and industrial service offering.

American Hydro is a supplier and installer of large equipment upgrades and servicing for the hydroelectric and water distribution industries. The company has its headquarters in York, Pennsylvania, and a service center in Montreal, Canada. The company employs 241 people, with net sales of $45.6 million in 2015.
