Two Natural Gas-Fired Power Plants in Pennsylvania Substantially Completed

Panda Patriot natural gas-fired power plant

Gemma Power Systems LLC has substantially completed two natural gas-fired power plants in Pennsylvania.

The 829-MW Panda Liberty and 829-MW Panda Patriot combined cycle power projects were built on the Marcellus Shale formation in Pennsylvania. Panda Liberty achieved substantial completion on April 30 and Panda Patriot reached substantial completion on June 14. Substantial completion means the projects have been turned over to the owner for commercial operation. The plants both use Siemens’ (NYSE: SI) H-class turbines in a single shaft configuration.

Gemma Power Systems, through a joint venture with Lane Construction Corp., was the engineering, procurement and construction contractor. POWER Engineers provided engineering and detailed design services for the projects.
