GE's Digital Power Plant Helps French Gas Plant Achieve Record-Setting Efficiency Rate

Bouchain Power Plant France

GE (NYSE: GE) and EDF began operations at the first-ever combined-cycle power plant equipped with GE’s 9HA gas turbine in France. The plant also set a Guinness World Record as the most efficient combined-cycle plant in the world based on an efficiency rate of up to 62.22 percent at the Bouchain Power Plant.

The 605-MW Bouchain plant uses GE’s Digital Power Plant capabilities, including the digital control system, that use real-time data to deliver better plant outcomes while providing valuable predictive insights for higher reliability and optimization.

“By commissioning this new generation thermal plant, EDF demonstrates its intent to apply the best technologies on the market to make its French thermal power plants more energy efficient while supporting the energy transition,” said Jean-Bernard Lévy, CEO of EDF.
