Fuel Tech Licenses SNCR Technology to India’s ISGEC Heavy Engineering Ltd.

Fuel Tech, a company that optimizes combustion systems and emissions controls,  has licensed its selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) technology to ISGEC Heavy Engineering Ltd. (ISGEC), an engineering company in India. Fuel Tech will receive engineering fees and royalties from any ISGEC project that uses the technology in the country.

The technology will be used to reduce NOx emissions within India. Coal remains a primary fuel source in the country, last year prompting the central government to issue regulations mandating emissions requirements for coal-fired power plants. The regulations take effect in 2017.

Vincent J. Arnone, president and CEO of Fuel Tech, commented, “This licensing agreement represents the successful execution of our strategy to cost-effectively monetize our proven emissions control technology by targeting developing markets that can benefit from our solutions platform. We believe that ISGEC is an ideal partner to introduce Fuel Tech’s proven emissions control technologies to India, an important and promising new market for our solutions.”

Fuel Tech’s NOx reduction technologies include advanced combustion modification techniques and post-combustion NOx control approaches. The company has installed its technologies in more than 900 units worldwide.
