NAES Corp. was picked by J-Power USA to operate four natural gas-fired power plants on Long Island, New York.

NAES will operate the plants effective May 1. They include the 88-MW Edgewood Energy peaking plant; the 48-MW Equus peaking power plant; the 79.9-MW Pinelawn combined-cycle power plant; and the 79.9-MW Shoreham peaking plant. The addition of the four plants brings the count of J-Power USA facilities under NAES’ operation to seven.

“NAES has consistently delivered the kind of O&M practices that help us realize our vision – which is to own and operate a best-in-class fleet of power plants,” said Paul Peterson, Vice President of Asset Management for J-Power USA. “This agreement reflects our confidence in their ability to advance our fleet of initiatives by optimizing resource allocation, enhancing employee leadership practices and improving business decisions.”
