Fluor Says Brunswick Natural Gas-Fired Power Plant Substantially Complete

Fluor substantially completes Brunswick County Power Station

Fluor Corp. (NYSE: FLR) said it has achieved substantial completion of Dominion Virginia Power’s (NYSE: D) 1,358-MW Brunswick natural gas-fired power plant in Virginia.

Fluor provided the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services for the plant. At the peak of construction, there was a construction staff of 1,500 workers. The power plant began producing electricity April 25. Construction started in August 2013. The plant is designed to use natural gas and energy efficiency in a combined-cycle setting.

Fluor is scheduled to begin construction on Dominion’s 1,600-MW Greenville County Power Station later this year, located seven miles from the Brunswick County Power Station.
