SMUD Extends Cogeneration O&M Contract with EthosEnergy

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) awarded EthosEnergy two operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts and renewed an additional two contracts, totaling $116 million.

The four contracts across five power plants will extend from January 1, 2016 through December 2020 and will provide 60 people with employment. EthosEnergy will operate and maintain the Central Valley Financing Authority (CVFA) Cogen I, the Sacramento Cogeneration Authority (SCA) Cogen II, the Sacramento Power Authority (SPA) Cogen III, the McClellan Gas Turbine and the Cosumnes power plants.

EthosEnergy has previously provided SMUD with gas turbine parts, ECOMAX performance optimization and auto tuning, as well as field services on their Frame 7FA, Frame 7E and LM6000 gas turbines.
