EDF Renewable Energy Signs PPA with California Utility

EDF Renewable Energy has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Southern California Edison (SCE) for power generated at the  111.2-MW Valentine Solar Project.

The 1,260-acre Valentine facility is adjacent to EDF’s Catalina Solar 2 Project in the Mojave Desert, also contracted to SCE. Valentine will depend on horizontal single-axis tracking photovoltaic technology to generate clean energy that avoids more than 225,000 metric tons of CO2 annually.

The PPA contract period begins in December 2019.
