Dominion Picks Questar Executives to Lead Merged Company

Dominion picks Questar execs to lead merged company

Dominion (NYSE: D) has chosen longtime Questar (NYSE: STR) executives to head Dominion Questar when the deal is completed in 2016.

Questar Gas President Craig Wagstaff will become president of Dominion Questar and senior vice president of Dominion. He will be responsible for all Questar operating companies, including what are now the Questar Gas utility, Questar Pipeline and Wexpro natural gas development business.

Colleen Larkin Bell, Questar vice president and general counsel, will become vice president and general manager of Dominion Questar Gas. Brady B. Rasmussen, executive vice president and COO of Wexpro, will become vice president and general manager of Dominion Wexpro.

Questar Chairman, President and CEO Ronald Jibson made his plans public to retire once the Questar-Dominion acquisition is completed. The companies announced on February 1 an agreement to combine in an all-cash transaction in which Dominion agreed to pay Questar shareholders and assume Questar’s outstanding debt. The pending merger would create an integrated energy company serving about 2.5 million electric utility customers and 2.3 million gas utility customers in seven states. The combined company would also operate more than 15,500 miles of natural gas transmission, gathering and storage pipelines, and approximately 24,300 MW of electric generation.
