sPower has commissioned its first wind facility. The Salt Lake City company yesterday began full operation of the Latigo Wind Park in southeastern Utah.

Major construction of the 60-MW wind farm was completed last December. Since that time, the facility’s wind turbines have undergone various tests. They are now operating at full capacity.

Electricity generated by the wind farm will be provided to PacifiCorp under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

sPower is also building the Pioneer Wind Park in Glenrock, Wyoming, and plans to bring online more than 700 MW of renewable energy by the end of the year.
