LaSalle Station Unit 1 Removed from Service

Operators at LaSalle County Generating Station in Illinois removed Unit 1 from service last Saturday morning to replace seals on two pumps that circulate water in the reactor, but which were not performing adequately.

The outage came only a few days after the plant resumed operation following a refueling outage that began February 15, during which time more than 12,600 detailed inspections, maintenance tasks, and equipment upgrades were performed.
