Emerson Process Management to Supply Waste-To-Energy Automation Systems

Emerson Process Management, a unit of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), will provide process automation technologies and services for current and future waste-to-energy projects of Hitachi Zosen Inova.
Under a global framework agreement, Emerson was picked as a preferred supplier responsible for providing automation technologies including control and safety systems, predictive maintenance software, control valves and measurement devices and services such as engineering, project management and lifecycle care. The agreement formalizes the relationship between the companies following a $319 million project at the Perlen plant in Switzerland. Hitachi Zosen Inova supplied a complete advanced combustion system, boiler and flue gas treatment for Perlen. Emerson provided engineering, installation, commissioning, startup and servicing of more than 600 critical measurement instruments.
Emerson is currently working with Hitachi Zosen Inova on future waste-to-energy projects in Europe, including three in the U.K.
