Duke Energy Renewables Buys California Solar Project from EDF Renewable Energy

Duke Energy Renewables acquired the development assets associated with the proposed 20-MW Longboat Solar Power Project in California from EDF Renewable Energy.

The project will be built in San Bernardino County near the city of Barstow. The energy generated from the Longboat project and associated renewable energy credits will be sold to Southern California Edison through a 20-year agreement. Jinko is providing 84,000 single-axis tracking and polycrystalline modules. Gehrlicher Solar America Corp. will oversee construction of the project, which is expected to begin operations by year-end 2016.

With the purchase of this project, Duke now owns seven solar power projects in California.
