 DTE Energy Announces Leadership Changes

DTE Energy has announced several executive leadership changes, effective April 4.

Steve Kurmas, president and chief operating officer (COO), has been named the new vice chairman of DTE Energy.  In his new position, Kurmas, who plans to retire in 2017 after 38 years with the company, will lead several large scale projects.

Succeeding Kurmas as president and COO is Jerry Norcia, who joined DTE in 2002.  Norcia, who currently serves as president and COO of DTE Electric and Gas Storage and Pipelines, will be responsible for strategic oversight and operation of DTE’s electric and gas business, major enterprise projects and customer service.

Trevor Lauer, senior vice president of distribution operations, will take Norcia’s place as president and COO of DTE Electric.  Since 2005, Lauer has led a number of initiatives to improve overall reliability of the company’s distribution system.
