Siemens Signs Long-Term Service Agreement with Egyptian Plants

Siemens has extended a long-term contract to provide service and maintenance at the Nubaria, Talkha and El Kureimat power stations in Egypt. The 10-year contract also provides for component upgrades to be supplied by Siemens.
Seimens will continue to maintain eight SGT5-4000F gas turbines and the associated generators at the Egyptian plants. It will also install 33MAC upgrades to extend intervals between gas and turbine inspections from 25,000 equivalent operating hours (EOH) to 33,000 EOH. Additionally, the company will upgrade the plants’ gas turbine controls to its SPPA-T3000 control system, which will enable plant operators to make faster, more informed decisions in the day-to-day operations of the plants.
The contract was signed under the supervision of Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, represented by Middle Delta Electricity Production Company and Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company
Siemens has been doing business in Egypt since 1859 and has maintained a continuous presence in the country since opening its first office in Cairo in 1901. The company's technology and services have been implemented in the Nubaria, Talkha, El Kureimat, Damietta, Ataka, Sidi Krir, Ayoun Mousa, Cairo West and Midelec power plants.
