EDF RE Battery Storage Project Reaches Commercial Operation

EDF Renewable Energy's commercial storage project in McHenry County, Illinois

EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) has announced the completion of its first energy storage project in North America.

The McHenry Storage Project reached commercial operation Dec. 20, 2015.

Located in McHenry County, Illinois, the battery storage project added 40 MW of flexible capacity to the PJM Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) and will participate in the regulation and capacity markets.

EDF RE has more than 100 MW of storage project under development across North America.
