Wärtsilä Will Provide O&M Services for Gas-Fired Power Project in Mexico

Wärtsilä signed a full-scope, 10-year operations and maintenance agreement with Central Generadora Electrica Huinala, S. De R.L. De C.V., for the 139-MW Flexicycle power plant in Mexico.
The extensive agreement was signed in November 2015 covering full O&M services that include staff for day-to-day operations and supplying spare parts and maintenance. Wärtsilä previously signed a contract in October 2014 to supply seven Wärtsilä 50SG gas engines. The plant is scheduled to begin operations in April 2016. The Flexicycle plant is based on a gas, multi-fuel or liquid fuel power plant combined with a steam turbine. The plants can operate in both combined-cycle or in simple-cycle modes.
Natural gas originates from the U.S. and is sent to Mexico, where it is used to generate electricity in the Flexicycle plant. The generated electricity is then distributed to Guatemala under power purchase agreements.
