Lightbridge to Partner With BWXT on Nuclear Fuel Sample Production

Lightbridge Corp. (Nasdaq: LTBR) entered into an initial services agreement with BWXT Nuclear Energy Inc. to evaluate the ability to fabricate and prepare a preliminary plan for fabrication of nuclear fuel samples.
The agreement calls for Lightbridge-designed partial length nuclear fuel samples to be fabricated at BWXT facilities in the U.S. The plan is expected to be completed by early second quarter of 2016. When it is completed, the parties intend to explore expanding their collaboration to support the development and demonstration of manufacturing processes for Lightbridge-designed metallic fuel applicable to production of irradiation fuel samples, and fabrication of the required fuel samples for irradiation testing in the Institute for Energy Technology’s Halden research reactor in Norway. The irradiation testing is planned for 2017.
