 Deadlines Set for Nuclear, Renewable, Fossil Fuel Loan Guarantee Applications

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s Loan Programs Office announced upcoming deadlines for loan guarantee solicitation applications for fossil fuels, nuclear and renewable energy projects.

DOE also finalized $1 billion of additional loan guarantee authority available for applicants. The guidance adds $500 million to the Advanced Fossil Energy Projects solicitation, totaling up to $8.5 billion. The remaining $500 million was added to the Renewable Energy and Efficient Energy (REEE) Projects solicitation, bring that total up to $4.5 billion. The President clarified that distributed energy projects are eligible for loan guarantees under the Advanced Fossil Energy and REEE solicitations.

Part I application deadlines for the fossil fuel and renewable energy applications are:

  • March 16, 2016
  • May 18, 2016
  • July 13, 2016

Part II application deadlines are:

  • Feb. 17, 2016
  • April 13, 2016
  • June 15, 2016
  • Aug. 17, 2016
  • Oct. 19, 2016

Part I application deadlines for the nuclear applications are:

  • March 16, 2016
  • May 18, 2016
  • July 20, 2016

Part II application deadlines are:

  • April 13, 2016
  • Oct. 19, 2016
  • Nov. 23, 2016
