Dominion, Virginia Governor Partner to Increase Solar Energy

Dominion Virginia Power (NYSE: D) and the governor of Virginia agreed to deploy 110-MW of solar power generation in the state.
The Commonwealth will purchase the electricity through a long-term agreement with Dominion. The utility will build up to 75 percent of the solar capacity and third party solar developers will build 25 percent over several years.

Dominion will work with various state agencies to determine the location and size of the plants. As projects are scoped and developed, the timeline for construction and costs will be determined. The state will cover costs associated with the program.
