Strata Solar Wins EPC Contracts for Alabama Power's 1st Utility-Scale Solar Projects

Alabama Power has awarded Strata Solar with engineering, procurement and construction contracts for the utility’s first utility-scale solar projects.

Strata Solar, a U.S. leader in utility-scale solar energy systems, will begin construction in early 2016 on two 10.6-MW solar facilities, one each at the Anniston Army Depot and Fort Rucker Army Base.

Strata Solar has developed a number of utility-scale projects across the Southeast but these are the first solar projects of this size for Alabama Power.

“We are thrilled to be providing these high-quality solar projects to Alabama Power that together will put both the Anniston Army Depot and Fort Rucker Army Base closer to their energy independence goals,” said Markus Wilhelm, Strata Solar chief executive officer.
