MHPS to Install Boiler at New Shinseocheon Thermal Power Plant

Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Ltd. (MHPS) and Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd. of Korea were awarded a contract to install the boiler at the new Shinseocheon Thermal Power Plant.

Owned by Korea Midland Power Co. Ltd. (KOMIPO), the 1,000-MW class coal-fired ultra-supercritical-pressure thermal power generation facility is being built about 200 kilometers south of Seoul in the Seocheon County of Chungcheong Province.

The MHPS boiler is a core component of the large-scale, high-efficiency facility, slated to begin commercial operations in September 2019.

KOMIPO is the power power generation company of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), Korea’s national electric power supplier.  KEPCO’s current power generation portfolio includes coal-, oil- and natural gas-fired projects.
