 Justice Department Clears Schlumberger, Cameron Merger

The U.S. Department of Justice cleared a proposed merger between Schlumberger Limited and Cameron International Corp. (NYSE: CAM) without any conditions.
The clearance grants the two companies early termination of the waiting period required by the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Acts of 1976. The merger is expected to close in first quarter 2016, subject to other closing conditions and approval by Cameron stockholders.
Schlumberger is a global provider of technology, integrated project management and information solutions to customers in the oil and gas industry. Cameron is a supplier of flow equipment products, systems and services to oil and gas industries worldwide.
