Cypress Creek Renewables Proposes Montana Uitlity-Scale Solar Project

Cypress Creek Renewables aims to begin construction on a utility-scale solar farm near Missoula, Montana by spring 2016, pending approval from county leaders.

A public hearing is scheduled for December regarding Deer Creek Road Solar 1, LLC, a 3-MW facility that would supply power to about 540 homes.  The facility’s output would be sold to NorthWestern Energy and placed on the grid.

Cypress Creek, a developer and long-term owner of solar facilities, is asking for special exception so the farm can be built on 40 acres of vacant property that is zoned for residential use.

If built, the solar farm would boast about 17,000 panels about a half-mile from the junction of the Clark Fork and Blackfoot rivers.
