Areva to Clean France Nuclear Steam Generators

Areva to Clean France Nuclear Steam Generators

Areva will carry out preventive chemical cleaning services for steam generators at a nuclear power plant in France.
The cleaning process will eliminate micro-deposits of iron and copper that may be present in the upper part of the steam generators at the Cattenom 2 nuclear power plant. It avoids any risk of clogging and improves the overall performance of the equipment. The contract also includes the treatment of associated effluents.
EDF, the plant’s owner, already uses the process on other reactors in its fleet, and it is also being used in U.S. reactors.
