Stion Energy Services Announces Completion of Mississippi's 1st Utility-Scale Solar Project

Construction on Mississippi’s first utility-scale solar project is complete.

Stion Energy Services developed the 500-kW ground mount solar array in Desoto County.  The project is expected to generate more than 820,000 kilowatt-hours a year for Entergy Mississippi Inc.

The 3,700-panel array is the first of three solar projects commissioned by Stion Energy Services and Entergy Mississippi.

Completion on the other two sites, near Jackson and Brookhaven, is expected by the end of 2015.

“Stion is proud to partner with Entergy to deliver this historic solar project, which will provide a clean, economical source of electricity for Mississippi’s residents,” said CEO Jeffrey Cheng.  “We hope this project is representative of the vast potential to deliver Stion’s ‘Simply Better’ solar solutions to Mississippi and the entire region.”
