Q3 Brings GE 4 New HA Gas Turbine Orders, Per Earnings Report

General Electric’s Schenectady-based Power & Water unit received four new orders for HA gas turbines during 2015’s third quarter.

Released Friday, GE’s earnings report shows the orders were for the U.S., South Korea and Pakistan, and the company has another 20 of its high-efficiency gas turbines on backlog.

Despite a 29-percent drop in earnings, GE reports a profit of $2.5 billion profit.

GE’s Power & Water Unit received $6.9 billion in orders during the third quarter, though orders and revenue for steam and gas turbines were down for the quarter.

Also announced Friday, GE says it expects its Alstom acquisition to close within weeks.  The company will roll into the Power & Water unit, which manufactures wind and gas turbines and other power generation equipment.
