NTE Energy Closes Financing on 475-MW Ohio Plant

NTE Energy has closed financing for the $645 million Middletown Energy Center.

The new 475-MW, natural gas-fired facility in Butler County, Ohio will utilize Mitsubishi’s GAC turbine in combined-cycle configuration and sell its capacity into the PJM wholesale electricity market.
Gemma Power Systems will serve as the EPC firm for the project, with NTE Energy Services Company operating as the construction and asset manager. Construction will bring 300 to 400 jobs to the area and long-term operation of the plant will create 25 to 30 full-time positions.
Once operational, the Middletown Energy Center will generate enough power for about 400,000 homes, with commercial operation slated to begin in 2018.
