First Solar, Strata Solar Make Deal for 400 MW of PV Modules

First Solar has inked a deal with Strata Solar for 400 MW of First Solar’s advanced thin film photovoltaic modules.  Delivery is expected between 2017 and 2018.

The agreement marks Strata’s purchase of more than 1,000 MW DC from First Solar.

“We are pleased to be extending our relationship with First Solar,” said Markus Willem, Strata Solar CEO.  “Strata has a relentless focus on quality, efficiency and flawless execution, so it’s critical for us to have world-class technology partners like First Solar.”

Georges Antoun, First Solar U.S. president, says the agreement shows confidence in and sustainability of the utility-scale solar market.

“We are excited by Strata’s ongoing commitment to First Solar as a source of high-performance technology that provides a competitive edge in their project portfolio,” said Antoun.  “We see ongoing opportunity for continued growth over the next several years.”

Antoun says First Solar has sold more than 1.8 GW of modules in the U.S.
