Siemens Supplying Wind turbines for Oklahoma Power Project


Apex Clean Energy contracted Siemens (NYSE: SI) to supply, install and service 66 wind turbines at a 151-MW power project in Oklahoma.
Siemens will supply 66 SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines for the Grant Wind project, with installation scheduled to begin in October. Operations are expected to start in spring 2016.

Siemens Financial Services is financing $50 million for the project. Siemens is also supplying the project’s main step up transformer, along with a long-term service and maintenance agreement for the turbines.
The nacelles for the Grant Wind project will be assembled at siemens’ facility in Hutchinson, Kansas, and the blades will be manufactured at the blade facility in Fort Madison, Iowa.
