GE Ships Gas Engine Genset to Texas Power Plant

GE ships Jenbacher J920 FleXtra gas engines to Sky Global Power One power plant in Texas

GE (NYSE: GE) has shipped the sixth and final gas engine for the Sky Global Power One power plant in Texas.
GE is providing six of its 8.6-MW Jenbacher J920 FleXtra gas engines generator sets for the 51-MW project located next to San Bernard’s Rock Island substation. Sky Global will sell peaking power to the San Bernard Electric Co-op Inc. and includes a multi-year service agreement.
The plant broke ground in January and is expected to begin commercial operation in early 2016. The engine is expected to arrive in the U.S. in early September.
