EXERGY has announced its entrance into the U.S. Market with an investment in a new geothermal project in Malta, Idaho.
EXERGY, the developer and manufacturer of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbines and pioneer of Radial Outflow Turbine technology, will supply the Walker Ranch Energy project with two binary cycle units based on the Radial Outflow Turbines, 16 megawatt-electrical (MWe) power each.
“We have valued Walker Ranch Energy as a promising project backed by solid investors,” said Luca Xodo, EXERGY’s head of business development. “We could not miss this opportunity to enter this market, adding a new reference to our existing 300-MW portfolio and look forward to future possibilities to expand in this region, enhanced by the recent presidentially-endorsed Clean Energy Initiative.”
Construction is expected to begin in 2016 while the plant is slated to go online in the second quarter of 2017.
