Dynegy Inc. has announced clearing PJM Interconnection’s capacity auction for the 2018-19 planning year and the transition auction for the 2016-17 delivery year.
In a statement released Sept. 8, the Houston-based company reported the 2018-19 PJM capacity auction cleared the Capacity Performance product (CP) at $165 per megawatt-day (MWd) in the unconstrained region (RTO), $215 per MWd for the ComEd region and $225 per MWd in the EMAAC region. The RTO base capacity product cleared at $150 per MWd.
The company cleared 9,891 MW, including 835 MW being imported into PHM from the company’s IPH segment assets located in MISO.
Capacity revenues associated with these prices total $653 million for 2018-19.
The 2016-17 transition auction cleared at $134 per MWd, and Dynegy cleared and converted 6,542 MW from the existing base product to the CP product, including 730 MW being imported into PHM.
Capacity revenues for 2016-17 total $434 million, an increase of $176 million over the previously-cleared volumes.
Results for the 2017-18 transition auction are expected later this week.
