Russia helping to refuel Iran nuclear power plant

TVEL to supply nuclear fuel to Bushehr plant in Iran

TVEL Fuel Co. said it is ready to ship fresh nuclear fuel to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran.

Fuel for Unit 1 was produced at the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates in accordance with the contract between Russia and Iran. The shipment will be made before the end of August 2015 for a scheduled refueling, and is scheduled to be loaded into the reactor in September.

In July 2015, the permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany (known as the P5+1) and Iran signed a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, to relieve Iran of sanctions.
