PSEG Solar Source acquires California solar power project

PSEG Solar Source acquires columbia Solar Project in California from Hanergy America Solar Solutions

PSEG Solar Source, a unit of PSEG (NYSE: PEG), acquired the 25.4-MW Columbia Solar Project in California from Hanergy America Solar Solutions.

The facility, to be named PSEG Pittsburg Solar Energy Center, is scheduled to enter service in October after testing and commissioning is completed. It has a 20-year power purchase agreement with Pacific Gas & Electric (NYSE: PCG). Solar Source has 12 facilities in operation or development with a generating capacity of 148 MW-DC.

The project uses 83,000 solar panels on remediated land in an industrial zone. McCarthy Building Companies performed the engineering, procurement and construction for the project, and Blue Oak Energy will operate the solar plant. Hanergy America Solar Solutions completed the development and managed construction.
