PowerSecure secures $100M for utility-scale solar project

PowerSecure International (NYSE: POWR) has been awarded $100 million in new solar projects, including a ground-mount system for a large investor-owned utility (IOUs). The awards follow $120 million in utility grade solar energy projects announced in mid-2014, and nearly $30 million of microgrid and energy storage projects.

"The solar marketplace remains very active and we are excited to add these new large awards to our growing backlog of utility-scale solar projects and complex microgrid solutions which integrate solar energy," said Sidney Hinton, chief executive officer (CEO) of PowerSecure.

The company expects approximately $15 million in revenue from the new projects in the fourth quarter of 2015, and $85 million throughout 2016.
