Panasonic Eco Solutions Canada secures EPC contract with Petawawa Renewable Power

Panasonic Eco Solutions Canada Inc. has signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with Petawawa Renewable Power Corp. — a developer of Ontario renewable energy projects — for three 500KW/ 600 KW projects under the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) and IESO's Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) programs. The FIT program was developed for the Province of Ontario to encourage renewable energy power from sources including wind, hydropower, biomass, and solar photovoltaic (PV).

"These projects show the success of the renewable energy programs available in Ontario, and we are ready to start building on these projects,” said Walter Buzzelli, managing director at Panasonic Eco Solutions Canada Inc.

Panasonic Eco Solutions expects to start construction this summer. Upon completion, OPA will purchase energy generated by Petawawa’s solar projects through long-term power purchase agreements.
