Irradiation testing to begin on metallic nuclear fuel

Lightbridge Corp. (Nasdaq: LTBR) and Norway’s Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) signed a binding services agreement for irradiation testing of Lightbridge metallic nuclear fuel samples.
The testing will take place in a prototype commercial reactor in IFE’s Halden research reactor in Oslo. IFE is in the process of applying to the Norwegian authorities for regulatory approval to conduct the experiments.
The fuel is designed to provide an increase in power output while extending the operating cycle length in existing pressurized water reactors.
