FuelCell, E.ON units to offer decentralized CHP solutions

FuelCell Energy (Nasdaq: FCEL) announced an agreement with E.ON Connecting Energies GmbH to offer decentralized combined heat and power (CHP) solutions.
The CHP solutions would be offered to its existing and prospective customer base through a power purchase agreement or leasing structure. The solutions would be offered with megawatt and multi-megawatt Direct FuelCell power plants.
The agreement starts with the sale of a 1.4-MW power plant in Europe at the German headquarters and production facility of Friatec AG. E.ON will own the plant and FuelCell Energy Solutions will install, operate and maintain the plant under a long-term service agreement.
